We offer 55+ adults three lifestyle choices - independent living, assisted living and memory care. Our resort style campus sits on 25 acres with over half protected forest. We change the way 55+ adults think about retirement living. *Vacancy status:* This position is for an existing vacancy. *Purpose:* To maintain a clean and safe environment while working as a member of the team to provide a comfortable environment for the residents of the Meadows of Aurora. *Reporting to:* Director of Health, Wellness & Housekeeping *Qualifications:* · Ability to follow oral and written instructions in the English language. · In good health and have the ability to do heavy lifting. · Experience in an institutional housekeeping department. · A mature attitude. · A genuine interest in people. · Comfortable working in a supportive Memory Care environment, including engaging in informal conversations with families, staff, and residents. · Understands that dementia may sometimes require extra room care related to incontinence and responds with patience and respect. · Has knowledge and experience with older adults, dementia care, and supporting families/caregivers (asset). · Available to work weekends. *MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES* *Day-to-day Duties:* * Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the building. * Clean, disinfect, all public areas of the facility and common places. * Clean apartments for residents. * Provide laundry services for residents. * Clean common places as assigned. * Vacuum / mop corridors and sanitize handrails. * Check sitting areas/lounges daily and ensure seats are all straightened up. * Remove any items that don?t belong there and ensure place is presentable. * Request and put away supplies on a weekly basis. * Keep custodian room clean, organized and clutter free. * Ensure carts are sanitized and spray bottles labelled for Health and Safety. * Report all mechanical or maintenance deficiencies, accidents and hazards. * Immediate response to emergencies * Practice safe work practices. * Ensure employee responsibilities as per Occupational Act are performed. * Perform specific duties assigned according to schedule provided by supervisor. * Inform supervisor of any changes / cancellations requested by residents. * Participate scheduled meetings and perform other duties as assigned. *Interactions With Our 55+ Residents:* We work hard to maintain a loving and caring environment for our 600+ senior residents at The Meadows.
