Responsibilities Operate equipment in an effective and safe manner working directly with your team Follow safety precautions, procedures, and policies. Perform daily service and preventative maintenance on equipment. Operate equipment in a safe manner and be willing to comply with Lavis’ safety commitments. Other duties as assigned. PLEASE NOTE - This is a Union position (OE 793) and the successful candidate MUST be a current member in good standing or willing to join Qualifications Experience as a General Excavator Operator installing Municipal Infrastructure as well as using a trench box Experience digging around underground utilities including Gas, Fibre Optics and Hydro Experience with GPS equipment is considered an asset Strong understanding of grading, trenching, and excavation techniques Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety procedures Minimum of a valid Ontario G driver’s licence is required. Daily exposure to construction environment. Mechanically inclined will be considered an asset. Ability to perform effective verbal and written instructions. AZ/DZ Licence is considered an asset. Possibility of AZ licence training for the right candidate. Flexible hours required to meet project timelines. Operate excavation equipment safely and effectively while performing daily service and preventative maintenance. Collaborate with the team to follow safety policies and complete assigned construction duties.
Exigences
Requires experience as a General Excavator Operator with expertise in municipal infrastructure and digging around underground utilities. A valid Ontario G driver's licence is mandatory, and candidates must be members of or willing to join the OE 793 Union.
