In your role as a Category Assistant – Food at The North West Company (TNWC); you will be responsible to assist the Category Manager with the day-to-day tasks of managing the category. You will compile data and reports required to monitor the Category performance, maintain vendor directory, investigate and respond to Stores and Category teams’ inquiries regarding the category; and provide support for all category promotional activities. Check out northwest.ca for more information. Your Role: Coordinate the data and information required for item and verifies list is accurate. Coordinate Category calendar and vendor meetings. Validate vendor submissions and submits to the Data Management team for processing. Respond to questions from the Data Management teams to ensure complete and accurate item setup. Send communications to stores about item updates. Submit necessary category updates for communication. Respond to Store Connect tickets assigned to the Category Team, ensuring the resolution of store issues, and escalating when necessary to ensure a satisfactory conclusion for all tickets. Compile data and draft reports and presentations for Category Manager approval. Support the Category Manager in the monitoring of promotional planning and planogram reviews. Perform the administration related to Category promotional activities. Conduct analyses as requested by the Category Manager for weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance reports. Review and monitors reporting as required and takes necessary actions or escalates as need. Desired Skills & Experience: Previous experience working in an office support and/or in an administrative assistant role is required. Post-secondary education in business or related field or a College diploma is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be detail conscious and demonstrate a high level of accuracy.
