Position Information Temporary position until approximately May 26, 2028. With an annual budget of over $2B, The Ottawa Hospital is a large complex organization, one of the largest of its kind in Canada. The Financial Analyst reports to the Accounting Supervisor and plays a key role in fostering collaboration and driving efficiencies within the Financial Services Team. The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting a broad range of accounting and financial reporting activities. The role involves preparing and recording complex accounting transactions, analyzing and reconciling accounts, validating financial data, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information used for management reporting and financial statement preparation. The Analyst performs detailed reviews of financial information to support sound decision making and compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal controls. Working closely with management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders, the Financial Analyst contributes to the organization's financial reporting processes by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, investigating variances, and identifying and resolving issues related to financial data. The successful candidate will also review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses prepared by Accountants to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts. For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change. Basic Requirements Completion of a University Degree, or equivalent; CPA (CA, CMA or CGA) or equivalent experience; Minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial analysis in a large, complex environment; Strong systems skills including spreadsheets, reporting tools, and databases; Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly as it relates to systems and processes; Sound judgement and initiative; Excellent communication skills, written and oral; Results oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively manage time to successfully meet strict deadlines; Must be eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications Experience with a large ERP financial system (ORACLE); Experience with The Microsoft Power Platform, specifically, The Power Query App and Power Automate; Experience with Oracle EPM Planning, Hyperion Planning, or similar enterprise planning and budgeting systems; Knowledge of CIHI-MIS guidelines; Experience working with and preparing Ministry of Health (MOH) reporting, including: Hospital Consolidation Reporting (HCR), Self Reporting Initiative (SRI); Experience preparing Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) returns and filings: (HST Returns, Sales Tax Rebate Applications, NPO Returns); Experience preparing Payroll Remuneration Annual Returns: Employer Health Tax (EHT) Return, Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) Reconciliation; What You Can Expect From Us The Ottawa Hospital is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment for everyone.
