Rotation/Shifts Days 8 hour shifts (07:00-15:00). Must be available for on-call weekends, and stat holidays. For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change. Basic Requirements High school diploma; Certificate in electrical or mechanical technology; Medical Gas Technician Course (CHESS) or equivalent; Six (6) Months of experience with medical gas equipment including the servicing of medical gas outlets, testing of medical gas alarm panels, and medical gas bulk storage systems; Knowledge of WHMIS and safety practices for materials used including chemical spill and cleanup procedures; Understanding and reading of blue prints related to location and function of medical gas lines; Ability to calibrate technical gas equipment; Good oral communication skills; Basic math skills; Good problem solving skills; Eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced). The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. The technician is responsible for servicing medical gas outlets, testing alarm panels, and maintaining bulk storage systems. The role ensures the safe and functional operation of medical gas lines within the hospital environment.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, a certificate in electrical or mechanical technology, and a Medical Gas Technician Course (CHESS) certification. At least six months of experience with medical gas equipment and knowledge of WHMIS safety practices are required.
