Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts, (08:30-16:30) For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change. Basic Requirements High school diploma (Grade 12); One (1) year of work experience within a Health Records Environment; Customer service experience; Experience in handling confidential patient information; Experience applying EMPI registration standards; Successful completion of TOH medical terminology self-directed learning program or certification in medical terminology from a recognized educational institution; Data Entry (4000 keystrokes/hour); Comfortable/adept working with Ottawa Hospital computer applications; Above-average organizational skills with a high degree of personal initiative; Above-average computer literacy with interfaced software systems; Demonstrated ability to problem solve and apply strong analytical skills; Strong customer service skills; Close attention to detail; Familiar with Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act; General knowledge of the Ottawa Hospital clinical record content; Basic math skills; Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced). The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.
