Position Information Temporary position until approximately October 05, 2027. This position will support the following areas: 8 West, Medicine Resource Team, Medical Day Care Unit, and Ambulatory Care Medicine Clinic. Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shfits. For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change. Basic Requirements Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; Baccalaureate in Nursing; Masters in Nursing or Education; Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO); Minimum of 3-5 years of medicine clinical experience or relevant clinical experience. Current BLS (CPR) Communicate effectively, in both oral and written format; Positive interpersonal skills; Requires the ability to direct, supervise, teach, advise nursing personnel in the area of nursing standards; Use effective teaching strategies incorporating educational theories and practice standards; Demonstrate leadership ability; Demonstrate group facilitator skills; Demonstrate effective presentation skills; Requires a thorough working knowledge of current nursing theories, research and practice standards; Requires a thorough working knowledge of current and future trends in health care; Demonstrated knowledge of current legislation affecting patients and employees; Eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years teaching experience; Membership in Specialty related Professional Association; Completion of a coronary course/cardiac trained; Certification in a clinical specialty; Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced). The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.
