Job Description: Position Purpose summary: To support clients and operate residential facility, through: Clients admissions, intake processing, case triaging, primary support case work, referral and clerical duties. Provide clients with encouragement and access to wrap around supports that ultimately lead to getting housed and staying housed. The purpose of the expectation Job description is to identify and clarify what management expects from the incumbent. Expectations may change year to year and both parties should use the annual performance appraisal to determine realistic and equitable goals and outcomes for the upcoming performance year. Accountabilities: Written and Verbal Communication Performing all relevant documentation related to PSCW including but not limited to: intake/discharge forms, client HIFIS notes, shift logs, incident reports, client forms, medication documents, client applications, stats reports, etc. Responsible for maintaining personal MyArmy work account/password for all strategic work purposes including email, Workday (attendance and scheduling), Salvation Army corporate information systems, Microsoft teams, etc. This is done with support from management, supervisory staff and I.T support personnel. Staying up to date on all communications, including management/supervisory emails, client case notes, meeting minutes, training communications, policy and procedures updates, etc. Reporting Fulfilling and communicating all relevant Incident reports, including IIR (Internal reports) to the team, and CIR (critical reports) to supervisory staff. Completing daily front-line worker responsibility logs and bed board charts. Completing all required aspects of ongoing PEAC performance appraisal and coaching documents Completing all relevant documentation for case management. Ensuring all case management notes are uploaded to HIFIS. Case Work/Facility Maintaining ongoing responsibility for primary client housing-stability planning and housing-related case work. Fulfillment of daily PSCW shift responsibility sheets Maintaining personal HIFIS account and using HIFIS system for all aspects client case work. Manage contact with professional and agency support staff PSCW staff members are responsible for moderate cleaning and upkeep of facilities and resident quarters when housekeeping staff are not available. PSCW staff are responsible to adhere to all tasks and responsibilities as outlined on the Front-Line worker responsibilities shift sheets. CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT PSCW workers manage regular contact with: Shift partners, aftercare staff team, residential and case clients, Immediate supervisory staff, management team, regional government reps, partner/community agency representatives, client contacts (as appropriate), other internal S.A. facilities staff members. Governance Boards and Councils/MEETINGS: Internal: Case Workers are responsible for participating in all relevant team and training meetings as directed by management/supervisory staff, including all-staff meetings, team meetings, supervisory/coaching meetings, training meetings, etc. MANAGERIAL/Technical Leadership RESPONSIBILITY: Reports directly to: Program Services Coordinator Indirect report to facility Program Director FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT: Following procedures on donation processing and drop-safe depositing Maintaining awareness of all organizational policy on personal finance related to money in the workplace (staff and client). WORKING CONDITIONS: PSCW staff members work onsite at Belinda’s Place; approximately 95%. On occasion PSCW staff have responsibility to leave premises for work related tasks (housing-related case work support, client, meeting, training, supplies purchasing, etc), approx. 5% PSCW staff members work within the facility building, and outside of the building, onsite. The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, exemplifying Christian standards of conduct. education and experience Qualifications: Education, Qualifications and Certifications: College diploma or equivalent post-secondary formal study related to social and/or women related services work. Bachelor of Social Work is preferred. Valid Driver’s License is preferred Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements Experience working with homelessness, mental health and addictions. Must have functional knowledge and understanding of women issues related to homelessness, mental health and addictions. Skills and Capabilities (examples provided below): Thorough knowledge and understanding of and a commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression and equity. The responsibilities associated with this position demand a high degree of confidentiality Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Word processing, Desktop Publishing, Spreadsheet/Graphing; Database computer skills are essential Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Must have good interpersonal/time management skills Good knowledge of community resources Must exhibit strong empathy, understanding and support for all youth, including difficult-to-serve young people, in our service sector. The Salvation Army's (TSA) Criminal Background Check policy stipulates that a criminal background check is required for all new employees. It must also be completed for volunteers who will be in a position of financial trust or authority. Additional screening is required for employees and volunteers who will work with vulnerable persons. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $22.05 to $22.05 with a maximum of $22.05. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
