JOB PURPOSE The York School is entering an exciting period of growth in philanthropy, and we are looking for a creative, digitally minded fundraising professional to help shape what comes next. As our Digital Fundraising and Donor Relations Officer, you will bring fresh thinking to how we inspire giving and build lasting relationships with our donors. You will help evolve an established annual giving program through creative digital campaigns, compelling storytelling and new approaches to engagement, while creating thoughtful stewardship experiences that ensure donors feel recognized, valued and connected to the impact of their support. This newly created role joins a growing Advancement team with the opportunity to experiment, create and build. From digital fundraising to donor communications, recognition and stewardship, you will help shape the full donor experience, from the first moment of engagement through to an ongoing relationship with the School. We are looking for someone who brings strong fundraising fundamentals, understands the importance of exceptional donor relations and is curious about how creativity, data and technology can strengthen both giving and engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In collaboration with the Director of Advancement, develop and execute creative annual giving strategies and digital fundraising campaigns that are engaging and dynamic with an overall goal to increase donor participation and annual fund revenue Oversee all annual fundraising initiatives, including staff giving, graduating class campaigns, digital appeals, and volunteer-supported fundraising activities Partner with Marketing & Communications to create and deliver integrated fundraising and donor engagement campaigns across multiple communication channels Build and steward relationships with donors through meaningful engagement, personalized communications, acknowledgement processes, and stewardship activities Prepare donor and prospect profiles, gift agreements, stewardship materials, and donor communications that support cultivation, recognition, and fundraising efforts Lead donor recognition programs, including donor walls, naming opportunities, signage, plaques, and related recognition initiatives Collaborate with the Advancement Services Specialist to maintain accurate donor records, recognition tracking, campaign reporting, and stewardship documentation Monitor and analyze annual giving and donor engagement performance, leveraging data, analytics, and emerging technologies to identify trends, measure outcomes, and inform future strategies Collaborate with internal stakeholders, volunteers, and external vendors to support fundraising, stewardship, and donor recognition initiatives QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Postsecondary education in a related discipline 4+ years of experience in advancement, fundraising, donor relations, stewardship, or a related role, preferably within an independent school, post-secondary, or nonprofit environment Demonstrated experience planning and executing annual fund fundraising campaigns, stewardship initiatives, and donor engagement programs Strong understanding of how social media and digital content can be used as an effective fundraising and storytelling tool Experience working with constituent relationship management databases; Raiser's Edge experience considered a strong asset Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and reporting to evaluate fundraising performance and donor engagement outcomes Proven ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture Proven strength in fostering respectful, responsive, and professional relationships with donors, volunteers, colleagues, families, and community members, ensuring a service-oriented approach in all interactions Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information Proficiency in navigating a technologically rich school environment, with expertise in Google Workspace considered an asset EMPLOYEE COMPETENCIES At The York School, we seek individuals who demonstrate the following core and role-specific competencies: Flexibility & Adaptability Breadth of Contribution Relationship Focused Service Orientation Communication & Collaboration Inclusivity Integrity & Trust Technical Expertise in Area of Discipline WORKING REQUIREMENTS This is an on-site role requiring presence on campus five days per week and meaningful engagement in our collaborative school community Occasional evening and weekend events required WHAT WE OFFER The target hiring range for this position is $70,000 - $88,000 annually. Placement within the range is determined by job-related skills, experience and education. Within the Greater Toronto Area, The York School is among the top CIS Ontario Schools for compensation.
