Support Service Worker (AbleLiving Services, Bethany Residence)

We are currently hiring both Full-Time and Part-Time Support Service Workers to join our team at our Bethany Residence program in Burlington. The Support Service Worker (SSW) reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for some or all tasks within laundry, housekeeping and food services. These positions are responsible for collecting, laundering and returning residents’ personal laundry, performing housekeeping tasks in resident apartments and common areas, setting and serving meals to residents and dishwashing all while ensuring safe food preparation and handling practices Interested in bringing your talent to our team? Experience in a long-term care/retirement home kitchen an asset. · Must demonstrate ability to problem solve, work efficiently, effectively and meet required timelines. · Must be able to maintain a clean/sanitary work area and meet the physical demands of the position which include but are not limited to: standing, shifting, leaning over stoves/grills, reaching, bending, lifting/moving items of variable weights. · Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment is beneficial. · Must be able to maintain regular and consistent attendance, be punctual and meet pre-determined deadlines. The Support Service Worker is responsible for performing laundry, housekeeping, and food service tasks within the residence. They must ensure safe food handling practices while providing exceptional service to residents.

Candidates should have at least a Grade 10 education and the ability to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending are required.
