Our exceptional team, powertrain agnostic product portfolio, vertical integration, global footprint and customer proximity make us a trusted partner to all the world's leading OEMs. Job Summary A Tooling Service Call Technician in our Windsor Mold Tooling facility is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the proper functioning of tools, molds, jigs, fixtures, and other equipment used in manufacturing processes. A Tooling Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall productivity and quality of the plant. Job Responsibilities Inspecting tools and equipment to identify wear, damage, or malfunctions. Performing routine maintenance and repairs to keep them in optimal working condition. Setting up tools and equipment for production runs, ensuring they are properly calibrated and aligned to produce parts within specified tolerances. Inspect new tools according to company standards. Diagnosing issues with tools and equipment during production and implementing solutions to minimize downtime. Modifying existing tools or fabricating new ones to meet specific production needs. This may involve working with various materials and using machines like lathes, mills and grinders. Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities, tool usage, and repairs. Ensuring that all tools and equipment are compliant with safety and quality standards. Maintain all related documentation to TS16949 standards. Maintain all standard work including Mold Tag System, Mold Storage Standards, etc. Job Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent is the minimum requirement. Ideally 3-5 years Tool and Die Repair experience. Preference for those candidates with any certificates or diplomas from a technical or vocational school in fields such as machining, tool and die making, Mold Making or mechanical engineering. 2 shot tooling, Class A polish and lighting tools an asset with processing knowledge. Must have ability to travel internationally, and to travel on short notice, for extended periods of time. Proficiency in using machining tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines. Understanding of tooling principles, materials, and processes. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair tools and equipment. Ability to operate milling machine, lathe, band saw, and other tool shop machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software can be beneficial. Why TI Automotive? A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for candidates having 3-5 years of Tool and Die Repair experience. Additional qualifications such as technical or vocational school certificates in relevant fields are preferred.
