As the Procurement Purchaser, you will have a strategic role, focusing on long-term supplier relationships and cost-saving measures. This position is responsible for managing cost-saving strategies and ensures quality when negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers. To excel in this role, strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and supplier relationship management are required. Location: 40 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON Dedicated Day Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday Job Duties Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers or vendors for products and services required by the company Prepare and issue purchase orders based on the company’s requirements Negotiate contracts, prices, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and develop new supplier partnerships Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to product quality, delivery delays, or price discrepancies Monitor inventory levels to ensure the company has the right amount of stock without overstocking Collaborate with other departments, such as production or logistics, to forecast and plan inventory needs based on sales and operational requirements Identify cost-saving opportunities by analyzing current supplier contracts and exploring alternative sourcing options Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing Skills and Experience Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management is beneficial Proficiency in procurement software and tools Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage supplier contracts effectively Strong analytical skills to assess vendor proposals, cost structures, and performance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Detail- oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures Qualifications Education and training related to business, supply chain management, materials management or a related field required. Previous experience in purchasing or inventory management is required. Previous experience in a shop or warehouse setting can be beneficial.
