Timmins Native Friendship Centre EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Finance Manager Salary Range: $ 70,000- $ 80,000 The TNFC provides services to support the cultural heritage of Indigenous peoples through intervention, prevention, direct services, advocacy, and support in the areas of health, education, employment and training, culture, recreation, and social services. Responsibilities/Duties · Oversee all financial operations, accounting, payroll, and financial reporting · Lead the development, monitoring, and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts · Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports · Monitor cash flow and ensure effective financial planning and controls · Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records · Oversee accounts payable and receivables processes, including reconciliation · Lead year-end processes, including audit preparation and coordination with external auditors · Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage all government remittances · Oversee the administration of employee benefits and related financial programs · Supervise and support finance and payroll staff, providing guidance and oversight · Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy · Maintain financial policies, internal controls, and reporting systems · Provide financial analysis and insight to support leadership decision-making Qualifications · Designation in Finance, or related field, industry courses relevant to Accounting or Finance - CPA or CAFM is preferred · 3+ years of progressive accounting and financial management/accounting sector experience · Proven experience overseeing full-cycle accounting and payroll functions · Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls and compliance requirements Computer competency and knowledge of office machinery Ability to manage, guide and lead finance employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used Proficiency with accounting systems (Sage 50 preferred) and advanced Excel skills Experienced with payroll systems and government remittances · Ability to speak Cree and/or Ojibway is an asset · Experience working in a non-profit organization and knowledge of the Friendship Centre movement, its aims and objectives · Ability to provide a clear Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Persons Check · Possess a class G Driver’s License and clear Driver's Abstract The successful candidate will be expected to work 35 hours per week, including evenings or weekends as needed.
