This is a full-time, permanent position working on commercial plumbing projects throughout Edmonton and the surrounding area. We're looking for a registered plumbing apprentice who takes pride in quality work, wants to continue developing their trade and is ready to gain hands-on commercial experience alongside experienced Journeymen. Responsibilities Assist with the installation of commercial plumbing systems, piping, fixtures and related equipment Complete rough-in, installation and finishing work appropriate to your apprenticeship level Assist with the installation of water, drainage, venting and related piping systems Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and construction drawings appropriate to your experience level Assist with layout and planning of assigned work Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in the field Test installed systems under appropriate supervision Complete assigned work in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, regulations, project specifications and Total standards Identify deficiencies, conflicts or concerns and communicate them to the appropriate Journeyman or supervisor Maintain accurate job and project documentation as required Work effectively with Journeymen, supervisors, project managers and other trades Safely and effectively use applicable hand and power tools Maintain company tools, equipment and work areas Follow company safety procedures and applicable safety regulations Take responsibility for continued development of your trade knowledge and skills Represent Total Plumbing & Heating professionally on every job site Perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization Skills & Qualifications Registered Alberta Plumbing Apprentice Commercial plumbing experience considered an asset Strong mechanical aptitude Developing knowledge of plumbing systems and components Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings appropriate to apprenticeship level Ability to safely use applicable hand and power tools Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to take direction and apply feedback Ability to work effectively as part of a project team Strong communication skills Commitment to safe work practices and company standards Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record Experience Commercial plumbing or construction experience is considered an asset.
