This is a full-time, permanent position working on commercial HVAC projects throughout Edmonton and North Central Alberta. We're looking for an experienced Journeyman who can independently execute commercial HVAC work, solve problems in the field and contribute to the development and performance of the team. Responsibilities Install commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems Install HVAC equipment, components, ducting and related mechanical systems Test installed HVAC systems and equipment to ensure proper operation Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and technical drawings Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC system and installation issues Complete work in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, project specifications and Total standards Identify deficiencies, conflicts and potential project issues and communicate them proactively Follow and reinforce company safety procedures and applicable safety regulations Maintain accurate job and project documentation Coordinate effectively with supervisors, project managers, general contractors and other trades Maintain company tools, equipment and work areas Provide guidance and technical support to apprentices when required Help develop apprentices through instruction, feedback and strong field practices Represent Total Plumbing & Heating professionally on every job site Perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization Skills & Qualifications Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic certification Commercial HVAC experience Strong mechanical and technical knowledge Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and components Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and technical drawings Proficient with applicable hand and power tools Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations and industry standards Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities Ability to independently plan and execute assigned work Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to identify and communicate project issues before they impact the work Ability to provide direction and support to apprentices Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safe work practices Valid driver's licence What Total Offers Competitive Journeyman compensation based on experience and qualifications Dental care Life insurance Opportunities for continued technical and professional development Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility Exposure to a variety of commercial HVAC projects and systems Support from an established project management, operations and leadership team Opportunities to help develop the next generation of Total tradespeople The opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing mechanical company What Success Looks Like at Total Success in this position means independently producing safe, high-quality commercial HVAC work while taking ownership of your responsibilities and the problems you encounter in the field.
