The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Community Programs/ Programmer, Specialty Programs, this casual position is responsible for supporting participants with physical, cognitive and/or developmental disabilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for inclusive and adapted programs, while working in accordance with the Town of Caledon guidelines, practices and procedures for Community Programs and Customer Service standards. The Inclusion Facilitator I would be responsible for the following duties: * Provide support to participants to foster involvement/engagement in programs and assist participants with daily needs, which may include but not limited to verbal prompting for task like toileting, feeding, dressing/changing and behaviour modifications. * Prepare facilities, teaching material, lesson plans and material for participants as required. * Work with the Supervisor/Programmer of Specialty Programs to complete and/or verify the accuracy of participant profiles. * Perform administrative tasks (i.e., attendance, preparation, Injury and Incident Reports etc.) * Maintain composure in escalated situations as they arise and immediately report incidents to the Coordinator/ Programmer or designate. * Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned. The Ideal Candidates We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are looking to gain valuable experience in a variety of programs with Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR- C. A minimum of one (1) year related experience in a program or support role. Experience working with individuals with special needs/disability and/or demonstrates interest in working with individuals with a special need/disability would be an asset. Additionally, certification in HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development is considered an asset. The candidates will have demonstrated ability to facilitate program delivery and have excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, organization skills with attention to detail. These candidates will also possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position offers an hourly rate of $22.64 with up to 24 hours per week. Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
