Exempt Job Vacancy POSITION TITLE: Human Resource Manager HOURS OF WORK: Full-Time Temporary Term Coverage (12-18 months) SALARY: $93,698 - $104,498 (commensurate with experience) About Smithers Surrounded by mountain ranges and beautiful lakes and rivers, Smithers is a true northern gem. The town has a population of around 5,400 and is a service hub for the surrounding region comprised of approximately 15,000 people. Residents enjoy four seasons of recreational activities; including a ski hill within half an hour of town, world-class fishing, backcountry and cross-country skiing, hunting, golfing and alpine trails for hiking and horseback riding, along with a lively music scene, boutique shopping, an art gallery and museum, an aquatic centre, and numerous family-friendly activities. About This Opportunity Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Human Resources Manager provides technical support and advice for human resources functions including recruitment, job classification, training and development, employee relations, union relations, and health and safety. The Human Resources Manager plays a central role in fostering a positive organizational culture and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders. This position offers a competitive salary of $93,698 - $104,498 (commensurate with experience). Essential Qualifications Include Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in human resources, business administration, management, psychology, or a related discipline. Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation (preferred). 2 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a public sector or unionized environment. Local Government experience is an asset. Knowledge of relevant labor law, employment and human rights legislation. Experience in leading Occupational Health and Safety programs is an asset.
