About the Role The Township is seeking applicants for four (4) full-time contract roles of Night Patrol, working for a period of 6-8 months beginning in November 2026. Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations – Transportation, the successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling municipal roads to identify and report winter conditions and hazards. Highlights of key responsibilities include: * Reporting snow or ice accumulation, potholes, hazardous trees, and flooding in accordance with Minimum Maintenance Standards; * Initiating staff call-ins per Township procedures and documenting road deficiencies * Reviewing and following up on work orders; * Performing emergency roadside tree removal * Installing barricades for closures or detours * Conducting light equipment maintenance; * Other duties as assigned This position will be based in the North or South yard depending on operational requirement. WHAT YOU BRING Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, maintain a ‘DZ’ driver’s license (G Driver’s may be considered) and have the ability to work well in a team setting as well as on their own. The successful applicants will be required to work nights and weekends on a rotational schedule of 6 days on and 3 days off, working from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. A Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract satisfactory to the Township are also required for this role. WHAT WE OFFER This bargaining unit position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2026 wage schedule range of $28.08-33.74 per hour). The Night Patrol officer is responsible for patrolling municipal roads to identify and report winter hazards such as snow, ice, and flooding. They also perform emergency roadside tree removal, install traffic barricades, and conduct light equipment maintenance.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid DZ driver's license, with G licenses potentially considered. Candidates must be able to work a rotational night and weekend schedule and provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Driver's Abstract.
