About the Township Nestled along the trails, shoreline and beautiful hills of Simcoe County, the growing municipality of the Township of Oro-Medonte offers a unique experience to work, live and play. About the Role The Township is seeking applicants for four (4) full-time contract roles of Night Patrol, working for a period of 6-8 months beginning in November 2026. Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations – Transportation, the successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling municipal roads to identify and report winter conditions and hazards. Highlights of key responsibilities include: * Reporting snow or ice accumulation, potholes, hazardous trees, and flooding in accordance with Minimum Maintenance Standards; * Initiating staff call-ins per Township procedures and documenting road deficiencies * Reviewing and following up on work orders; * Performing emergency roadside tree removal * Installing barricades for closures or detours * Conducting light equipment maintenance; * Other duties as assigned This position will be based in the North or South yard depending on operational requirement. WHAT YOU BRING Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, maintain a ‘DZ’ driver’s license (G Driver’s may be considered) and have the ability to work well in a team setting as well as on their own. The successful applicants will be required to work nights and weekends on a rotational schedule of 6 days on and 3 days off, working from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. A Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract satisfactory to the Township are also required for this role. WHAT WE OFFER This bargaining unit position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2026 wage schedule range of $28.08-33.74 per hour).
