Our client, an established and growing building-supply company, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop new business and strengthen customer relationships throughout Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and surrounding regions. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, relationship-focused salesperson who understands the construction industry and knows that responsiveness, reliability, and exceptional service are what keep customers coming back. Your responsibilities will include: Visiting construction sites and meeting with owners, contractors, project managers, and other decision-makers Identifying upcoming construction projects and opportunities to provide quotations Developing new business through industry relationships, referrals, site visits, and proactive prospecting Managing and expanding your own book of business Promoting the company’s service-based value proposition, with an emphasis on responsiveness, reliability, and customer support Maintaining regular follow-up with customers and becoming a trusted resource for their building-material needs Preparing and entering sales orders using SAP Business One Coordinating with shipping and internal teams to ensure orders are accurate and delivered on schedule Supporting customers throughout Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, the North Shore, the Sea-to-Sky region, and other surrounding areas Using the client entertainment budget strategically to strengthen relationships and generate business What You Bring Previous outside sales experience within lumber, building materials, drywall, steel studs, construction products, or a closely related industry An established network of contractors, builders, developers, project managers, or other construction-industry decision-makers Demonstrated success developing and managing a profitable book of business Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills A responsive and service-focused approach to customer relationships An understanding of construction timelines and the importance of delivering accurate information and materials promptly The initiative and drive to identify opportunities and grow a territory Strong organizational and follow-up skills Confidence working independently while collaborating with internal operations and shipping teams Experience with SAP Business One or a comparable sales-order or ERP system is an asset A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory Apply Today If you are a driven building-materials sales professional who knows how to turn strong relationships into long-term business, we would love to hear from you.
