Résumé du poste
Role Overview This is a manufacturing-first role, roughly 70% manufacturing and process engineering and 30% mechanical design. You'll spend most of your time on production readiness, process optimization, and machine build support, with a recurring stream of design work for engineering changes and continuous improvement. You are expected to bridge the gap between design and volume production, ensuring our hardware is manufacturable and scalable, while maintaining a strong foundation in mechanical design for continuous improvement and new product development. Core Responsibilities Lead Production Readiness: Take ownership of the manufacturing process ensuring consistent quality through work instructions (WIs) and maintaining manufacturing data packages (MDPs) Continuous Improvement: Drive design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), and design for service (DFS) on existing products to minimize build times and optimize field serviceability Quality Control: Define critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics, develop process controls (PFMEA, control plans), conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on production failures, and manage engineering change requests (ECRs) to resolve issues quickly Hands-on Manufacturing Support: Lead assembly-floor troubleshooting on both hardware and software issues, establish alternative vendors, manage the bill of materials (BOM), develop test equipment and software assets to test sub-assemblies in production Hardware Design: Own component redesigns and engineering changes in CAD, perform RSS tolerance stack-up analysis and apply GD&T and CTQs to ensure manufacturing repeatability Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field 3+ years across manufacturing, production support, and process engineering, with demonstrated hardware design contributions (DFMA, DFS, GD&T, FMEA, ECR) Experience working with contract manufacturers and building vendor relations Experience managing manufacturing data packs (MDPs), including detailed work instructions, test protocols, and BOM maintenance in an ERP or PLM system Proficiency with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) for manufacturing repeatability and hands-on experience troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical assembly lines Comfortable working safely on electrical cabinets with 120 VAC input and 60-24 VDC circuits Access to a vehicle and ability to travel approximately 2 days per week Preferred Qualifications Proficient in Onshape and modern cloud-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software Proficient in Linux, Git, Python, Jupyter Notebook, and can develop and deploy software assets Prior experience in robotics hardware is considered a strong asset
