Transdev Canada is hiring Casual Transit Operators for our Abbotsford location! As a Casual Transit Operator, you will be responsible on transporting passengers on public transit vehicles while ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers. Your role Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and provincial regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, the public, and fellow employees at all times. Provide safe, courteous, and reliable transportation to passengers throughout the service area, including Abbotsford and Chilliwack locations. Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer service attitude. Operate buses, coaches, or company non-revenue vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area within a daily assigned time schedule. Assist passengers with mobility aids in boarding and exiting the vehicle. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety. Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior. Communicate with dispatch regarding schedule adjustments, passenger incidents, or emergencies. Accurately operate fare boxes, electronic destination signs, and onboard systems. Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents and communicate with dispatch as required. Perform other duties as assigned. The perks Free training. Your profile A valid Class 2 BC Driver’s License with Air Brakes endorsement, or above. A demonstrated background in interactive customer service including retail, service, security, health care, education, etc. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to engage with passengers of all backgrounds. A safe and responsible driving over the past five years, with a clean, “No Contraventions” driving abstract. The ability to work in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack locations. The willingness to work a variety of shifts. A good general knowledge of the demographics of the service area. The ability to pass a vulnerable sector records check and drug/alcohol testing. Your location This is a casual, unionized position in Abbotsford. Transit environment: early, split & late shifts may be required. Interaction with the public.
