RESPONSIBILITIES: Own the development of complex piping layouts, 3D models, and plot plans, ensuring alignment with process intent and project constraints. Act as the primary interface with mechanical, process, civil/structural, and E&I teams to resolve layout conflicts and ensure cohesive design execution. Check and approve piping deliverables (P&IDs, isometrics, GA drawings, model reviews), ensuring completeness, accuracy, and constructability. Lead clash detection, tie-in planning, constructability reviews, and complex routing decisions based on field, safety, and operational constraints. Contribute across all stages (FEED through detailed design), including conceptual layouts, model reviews (60%/90%), and incorporation of client feedback. Provide guidance, technical direction, and informal QA/QC oversight to junior team members, supporting skill development and consistency in outputs. Review vendor data, coordinate equipment interfaces, and support site visits or as-built verification where required to validate design accuracy. Maintain adherence to Tri standards, client specifications, and design procedures, including proper documentation, revision control, and quality expectations. Act as the lead piping designer on assigned projects, responsible for piping scope execution, deliverable planning, and coordination with project management. Plan and prioritize piping deliverables in alignment with project schedules and milestones. Provide input into resource allocation and workload forecasting QUALIFICATIONS: 7-12 years working in an EPCM environment Proficient in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks. Diploma or Certificate in drafting or engineering technology from an accredited secondary institution; strong knowledge of codes and industry standards; Strong attention to detail and the ability to self-check and produce accurate designs and drawings; Must have strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines; Must be able to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, be a resident, and residing in Calgary or be willing to relocate to Calgary, to be considered for the position.
