Who we are? The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP). What is the project? The Ontario Line (“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (“NC”) project consist of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works. What is the Opportunity? The Project Accountant is responsible for all aspects of financial management and reporting. This role manages full-cycle project accounting, including payables, receivables, tax filings, accruals, and month-end and year-end close. The Project Accountant prepares monthly financial reports, monitors costs, revenues, and cash flow, and ensures compliance with budgets, accounting standards, and internal controls. Responsibilities Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, holdback accounts, HST filings, accruals, and other related tasks. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare and maintain monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Monitor project costs, expenses, and revenues, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints. Review and reconcile project-related accounts, including payables, receivables, and general ledger accounts. Collaborate with project managers to track project progress and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities. Conduct regular financial audits and reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Provide financial analysis and support to project teams, including variance analysis, cost benefit analysis, and cash flow projections. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed. Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices related to project accounting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred. 5+ years proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the construction industry. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
