UNDERWRITER, CONTRACT SURETY TORONTO The successful applicant will be a passionate and results oriented self-starter with the capability to foster and build upon relationships with new and existing talent. As an integral member of the team, you will bring: Demonstrated capability for outstanding customer service and building long term relationships Proven track record for quick, accurate problem resolution Exceptional financial statement analysis skills Passion for excellence and detail orientation Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal Strong work ethic, good organizational skills and the ability to work well, both independently and in a team-based environment A logical, process-oriented work style Strong decision-making skills Exceptional working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook Accountabilities include: Underwrite new business applications for surety according to company standards Analyze, assess and monitor the financial strength of new and existing account business Negotiate specific terms and conditions for the issuance of surety bonds Regular monitoring of various construction developments, projects and exposures Develop new business through networking and marketing with clients, consultants, lawyers, etc. Represent Trisura at various associations and industry related functions Search for solutions to complex problems with the ability to bring creativity to underwriting risks Expand upon industry knowledge to improve underwriting decisions through courses and training Qualifications: Successful completion of BCom, or BA with Business, Accounting or Finance focus 2-3+ years’ experience in Contract Surety, Accounting, Finance or Banking Bilingual in French and English is an asset Location: Downtown Toronto – Hybrid – 3 - 4 days per week in office Salary: The expected salary in this position is within the range of $70,000 - $90,000. This salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities. Trisura provides this range in good faith in accordance with applicable legislation. Underwrite new surety business applications and monitor the financial strength of existing accounts. Negotiate bond terms and develop new business through networking and industry marketing.

Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance and 2-3+ years of experience in Contract Surety, Accounting, Finance, or Banking. Proficiency in financial analysis and bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
