UNDERWRITING SPECIALIST, ASSOCIATION & AFFINITY BUSINESS TORONTO The successful applicant will be passionate, and results oriented with the capability to build upon and foster relationships with new and existing broker clients. Specifically, the successful applicant will be responsible for underwriting and managing large insurance programs related to healthcare, which include Professional Liability/E&O, CGL, Office Package, and other ancillary lines of coverage. As an integral member of the team, you will bring: Dedication to exceptional customer service Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities An innovative mindset for delivering thorough solutions Passion for excellence and detail orientation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop new business through networking/marketing with brokers, clients, consultants, lawyers and represent Trisura at various industry related functions Self-motivation and entrepreneurial outlook with solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment Accountabilities Include Evaluating exposures and determining appropriate terms and conditions of coverage, on established Healthcare business Communicating and negotiating with our broker partners Managing referrals and underwriting new business Building insurance knowledge in a variety of professional liability wordings Ensuring that files are well documented and comply with internal requirements Develop and maintain working relationships with brokers Maintaining a highly collaborative work environment, both internally and externally Maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in business, marketing, sales, or insurance preferred 3-5+ years of Healthcare Professional Liability underwriting experience Experience in Commercial General Liability, Property, Portfolio or Program Underwriting is an asset A high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail Capability to manage and meet deadlines Obtained or working toward CIP or RPLU Designation is an asset Excellent written and verbal communication in English are required Bilingual in French and English an asset Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook) Location: Downtown Toronto – Hybrid Offering The expected salary in this position is within the range of $85,000 - $125,000 Competitive Annual Bonus structure RRSP matching Employee Share Purchase Plan Hybrid work environment Future growth opportunities in a dynamic and highly successful Team Trisura’s Culture is ‘a step above’ Summer hours This salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada.
