What You'll Do Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the National Key Account Manager professionally promotes and sells Trouw Nutrition's value proposition and services to existing and potential customers while establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships. With a focus on private label pet food accounts, you will contribute to, implement, and execute sales and account plans, support marketing and pricing initiatives, prepare and present customer quotations, and provide strategic account management services that contribute to customer success and business growth. You will be responsible for managing major national grocery and mass pet food private label accounts, including new product development initiatives, pricing and promotional activities, customer meetings, portal management, and ongoing account development. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer relationships, and work cross-functionally to support customer needs while delivering sales growth. Who We're Looking For You are an experienced sales and account management professional who excels at building strategic customer relationships and identifying opportunities for growth. You understand customer needs and can translate those needs into practical solutions that deliver value for both the customer and the business. You are highly organized, commercially minded, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You are skilled in negotiation, communication, project management, and collaboration, and can effectively engage stakeholders across customer organizations and internal teams. You take ownership of results, demonstrate strong business acumen, and are motivated by delivering exceptional customer experiences and commercial success. You'll also need Post-secondary education in Business, Animal Science, or a related field, combined with relevant practical experience Bachelor's or Master's degree and relevant sales training preferred 4-6 years of sales and account management experience Experience managing business-to-business customer relationships Experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry Experience working with private label products and national retail accounts Experience with FMDC and retail customer environments Strong negotiation, presentation, contractual, and relationship-building skills Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, CRM systems, customer portals, and GS1 platforms Strong understanding of sales processes, account planning, and customer development In-depth understanding of business environments and sales financials Demonstrated ability to build and retain customer relationships Ability and willingness to travel as required Bilingualism in French and/or Spanish is considered an asset Key Responsibilities Manage major national grocery and mass pet food private label accounts Lead account management activities including meetings, customer portals, pricing, and product management Support new product development initiatives and commercialization activities Evaluate competitive products and market opportunities to advance private label strategies Lead customer negotiations and pricing discussions Develop and execute account plans to achieve sales objectives Maintain a proactive, value-added sales approach Identify and acquire new customers while growing existing business relationships Build customer value by identifying needs and recommending suitable products and solutions Resolve customer concerns, inquiries, and service issues efficiently and professionally Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful account execution and customer satisfaction Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for continuous growth Competencies & Success Factors Project Management Organizes plans, resources, and activities to support account growth and customer retention Demonstrates accountability and discipline in achieving commercial objectives Communication Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive-level customers Synthesizes information into actionable insights and recommendations Influences decision-making through relationship building and strategic communication Collaboration Builds strong cross-functional partnerships Brings together the right internal resources to create the best outcomes for customers Develops trust and effective working relationships across teams Relationship Leadership Creates, strengthens, and maintains strategic customer relationships Protects and expands account opportunities through customer engagement and partnership development Serves as a trusted advisor to key customer stakeholders Business Acumen Understands customer business models, market environments, and industry trends Aligns customer needs with Nutreco capabilities and solutions Combines commercial expertise with strategic thinking Sales Excellence Plans and executes effective customer calls Identifies and develops customer needs Demonstrates product and service value through customer-focused discussions Secures commitments that advance sales opportunities Evaluates account progress and allocates resources appropriately Continuously develops personal and professional sales capabilities Drive for Results Demonstrates a strong commitment to achieving commercial objectives Takes personal ownership of performance and outcomes Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement Overcomes obstacles and learns from challenges Focuses on delivering measurable business results What You'll Receive As part of Nutreco, you'll be a member of the SHV family, a diverse group of companies with global footprint.
