DESIGNER - FIRE PROTECTION/SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

Troy is a 2025 and 2026 winner of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program!Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. is looking for an enthusiastic Sprinkler Systems Designer to join our Edmonton, AB team!The successful candidate will assist in producing drawings on a variety of buildings including commercial, residential, industrial and healthcare facilities.Responsibilities: Design, calculate and stock list fire sprinkler projects in a construction environment. Work with a team of fire protection designers, reporting directly to the design team leader. Liaise between management, estimating, design, fabrication, installation, and project management as a valuable team member resulting in increased profitability. Assist in continuing and maintaining company best practices in coordination with national fire protection design team. Verify that all deliverables meet NFPA standards and local ordinance. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering & Technology, Mechanical Design or equivalent. Knowledge of design layout, hydraulic calculations, stock listing and project management would be an asset. NICET certification and/or have the ability to become certified. Experience working with AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculations. Experience with HydraCAD is an asset. The designer will produce drawings, perform hydraulic calculations, and create stock lists for fire sprinkler projects across various facility types. They will collaborate with internal teams and ensure all deliverables comply with NFPA standards and local ordinances.

Candidates should have post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required, while NICET certification and HydraCAD experience are considered assets.
