We're looking for a dedicated and safety-conscious Class 1 Flatbed Driver to join our clients logistics team. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of a variety of products to our valued customers, ensuring a positive and professional experience. This role requires excellent customer service skills, flexibility with shifts, and the potential for overnight runs. Job Summary Reporting to the Logistics Department, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for making safe, friendly, and courteous deliveries to our clients in Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes . This position demands high standards of customer service and efficiency. Flexible scheduling is essential, and overnight travel may be required as needed for routing . Reporting address is flexible. Client would shuttle the loads out to driver each week we can choose a location that makes the most sense for the driver and the most sense for wherever the first drop needs to be. 3 month coverage Tasks And Responsibilities Operate the equipment safely at all times; Communicate courteously and professionally with clients and staff on construction sites; Unloading goods on construction sites using a truck-mounted forklift ( Moffet ); Secure loads according to requirements and check load security throughout the day; Collect the products from the suppliers; Collecting coils from steel mills or external storage locations; Transferring products between Agway Metal sites; Maintain electronic and paper logs; Perform daily pre-use inspections on all equipment; Wear the company uniform and represent the company in a positive way; Undertake overnight trips as needed; Safely operate lifting equipment, such as truck-mounted forklifts ( Moffet ); Maintain regular communication with logistics staff; All other related tasks. The Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience driving flatbed trucks; Valid and up-to-date Class 1 driver's license, with an impeccable driving record; Experience driving forklifts and truck-mounted forklifts ( Moffet ); Willingness to complete internal certification for truck-mounted forklifts ( Moffet ); Proven experience in delivering to construction sites (an asset); Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Great attention to detail and excellent time management; Commitment to health and safety practices; Demonstrates honesty, collaboration and teamwork; Excellent communication skills in French (both oral and written) are required, and the position also requires knowledge of English due to communication and knowledge sharing with the English-speaking logistics team at the company's head office in Ontario and at various material depots. Interactions occur daily and involve discussions and exchanges regarding logistics and transportation. The incumbent must also be able to communicate regularly in both French and English with clients in Quebec and other provinces. Working conditions Use of required personal protective equipment; Operation of the necessary tools, machinery and equipment; Prolonged periods of sitting and other physical demands; Lifting, handling or moving objects up to 25 kg (50 pounds); Regular travel with overnight stays throughout Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes; Most journeys take place from Monday to Friday, but some routes in the East of the country may require alternative schedules. Well-maintained fleet of vehicles with assigned trucks; occasional use of day trucks requiring a hotel stay; Overtime hours are subject to the regulations of the driver's province of residence; Meals covered during overnight trips, fuel cards, cell phone and tablet provided for electronic newspapers.
