Senior Database Developer (Oracle)

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-scale technology solutions within a large financial services environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on Oracle database development, with a strong focus on SQL, PL/SQL, database design, stored procedures, performance tuning, and data integration. This role will support enhancements to an existing platform as well as the development and implementation of new features and capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with complex Oracle database environments and will be comfortable developing, troubleshooting, optimizing, and maintaining database solutions in a high-volume enterprise environment. Hard Skills 8+ years of experience in Oracle database development. Strong expertise in PL/SQL, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, collections, and exception handling. Advanced SQL skills with experience in query tuning and performance optimization. Experience with Oracle 12c/19c and Linux-based environments. Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, normalization, and indexing strategies. Experience integrating applications with databases using JDBC and REST-based services. Knowledge of transaction management, concurrency, locking, and database security. Experience troubleshooting production issues and performing root cause analysis. Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical financial or digital applications is preferred. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to developers, architects, and business stakeholders. Proven capability to lead technical design discussions and mentor junior developers. Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive issues to resolution. Collaborative team player who works effectively across development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams. Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and deliver under tight deadlines. Continuous learning mindset and willingness to challenge existing solutions with innovative ideas. Nice-to-Have Experience in financial services, wealth management, or online trading platforms. Exposure to microservices architectures, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
