What we’re looking for TVO is looking for Secondary Curriculum Specialist in the subject area of Physics & Chemistry who can begin as soon as possible. The Curriculum Specialist will apply a proven understanding of transferable skills, deep knowledge of curriculum expectations for deep learning and best practices in student-centered online learning to guide and inform the creation and review of online learning courses for TVO. Your work will entail meeting the provincial standard for curriculum expectations in physics and chemistry, through the development, creation, and review of learning activities in online formats. How you will make an impact * Provide educational expertise in designing, developing, and implementing policies and programs for curriculum and assessment * Collaborate with staff, teams, and external service providers to build out course design requirements, review physics and chemistry courses and course components as they are iterated, and assist with user experience testing * Collaborate with teacher writers to align course pedagogy with active learning and to plan for course interactivity * Work with a cross-functional team to inform the creation of engaging, interactive, rigorous and relevant course content that is rooted in cutting edge pedagogy * Present engaging, interactive, rigorous and relevant courses that support learners of diverse backgrounds and ages * Accountable for course quality to contribute to rates of course completion and student success and ensure that the final product is error-free and reflects the excellence expected in Ontario’s educational landscape * Follow TVO’s Educational Blueprint in all development activities * Review, provide feedback on, and in certain cases co-author course content and related documentation, in keeping with TVO's quality and time requirements * Build team capacity through pedagogical leadership to serve a diverse learner population * Inform and review the creation of course content and digital learning activities * Analyze and interpret data sets for provincial, national, and international student success (e.g. EQAO, TIMSS, PISA) to inform development of secondary content in all subject areas. * Support testing of educational content with learner groups As required, performs the following tasks: * Performs other directly related duties. * Communicate progress and opportunities throughout the life of a project What you will bring to TVO * Bachelor of Education, intermediate/senior in subject areas of Intermediate/Senior Physics & Chemistry with additional education or training in a related field (Master of Education an asset) * Intermediate/ Senior Qualification in Mathematics is an asset * Must be OCT certified * Bilingual in English and French is an asset * 5+ years of classroom experience * Proven ability and experience designing appropriate, accessible, and engaging online educational content for online learning environments * Ability to develop online learning modules * Experience implementing Ministry of Education policy and program requirements, e.g. Transferable Skills, Growing Success, and Achieving Excellence * Understanding of how to build effective and authentic assessment for learning activities * Experience with projects where digital assets were created * Strong time management, analytical and interpersonal skills required, along with a high degree of attention to detail * Excellent grammar, verbal and written communication skills required, including experience in presenting to all levels of leadership * You live our values: we value bold thinking, we embrace change, we thrive with diverse voices, we honour our commitments, we're better together What we offer Working at TVO, you’ll have the opportunity to do meaningful work that impacts millions of Ontarians. The Curriculum Specialist will design, develop, and review interactive online learning courses for Physics and Chemistry while ensuring alignment with provincial curriculum standards. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams and teacher writers to implement effective pedagogical strategies and analyze student success data to improve course quality.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Education with Intermediate/Senior qualifications in Physics and Chemistry and possess OCT certification. A minimum of 5 years of classroom experience and proven expertise in designing accessible online educational content are required.
