This is a high-impact individual contributor role, requiring a strong ability to influence, coach, and partner with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization. You will serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership teams, champion proactive risk management initiatives, lead compliance and audit activities, and help shape the future of health and safety across our operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced EHS professional who is passionate about making a meaningful impact and driving positive change. Site Locations: This position is primarily based in Abbotsford, BC, with responsibility for supporting operations across Abbotsford, Pitt Meadows, and North Vancouver. What You’ll Do: Partner with regional leadership to promote and strengthen a world-class safety culture. Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations, as well as Univar Solutions standards and policies. Act as a trusted resource for leaders, Joint Health & Safety Committees, and employees on all health and safety matters. Lead and support EHS risk assessments, management systems, and certification programs, including ISO Standards and Responsible Distribution Canada. Drive emergency preparedness initiatives and serve as the regional technical advisor for emergency response planning and ERAP activities. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence. Deliver engaging health and safety training programs, including New Hire Orientation, TDG, WHMIS, and other regulatory requirements. Conduct EHS audits and partner with operations teams to implement sustainable solutions and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor emerging regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure continued compliance and operational excellence. Support other EHS initiatives and projects as needed. Qualifications and Preferred Experience: 5+ years of health and safety leadership experience supporting multiple locations, preferably within the chemical, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or related sectors. A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices. Experience leading audits, investigations, training programs, and compliance initiatives. Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills. A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence, engage, and inspire teams at all levels of the organization. Professional certifications such as CRSP or CSP are considered an asset. Pay and Benefits:The annual expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - 130,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. Candidates must have at least 5 years of health and safety leadership experience in industrial or manufacturing sectors. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety is required.
