Are you passionate about student groups on campus? Would you like to be a part of enabling student groups to thrive by providing them with opportunities for financial support? Being an Adjudicator for the Student Group Grant Committee (SGGC) will allow you the opportunity to support student groups in their events and financial endeavours. About The Opportunity The Student Group Grant Committee (SGGC) disburses the Student Group Granting Program funds and reviews the procedural documents belonging to the Program, under the direction of the University of Alberta Students' Union (UASU). The SGGC is an adjudication committee composed of students with student group executive experience, and aids the UASU and Student Group Services, on behalf of the Students' Council Finance Committee, to provide funding to UASU-recognized student groups for their operations and events. The SGGC also serves as an advisory committee for the UASU when making changes to the Granting Program. The SGGC is currently taking applications for undergraduate students-at-large to serve on the committee for the 2026/2027 academic year. Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must: ● Be an Undergraduate student at the University of Alberta ● Be a member of the University of Alberta Students’ Union by being up-to-date on UASU fees ● Be a current or past executive member of at least one student group. If you are part of the Adjudication Committee AND you are part of a student club, your club is still eligible to apply for grants. Time Commitment 2-3 hours of Adjudication Training done asynchronously. ~10 hours per grant application round (or per semester). This includes Adjudication Meetings, potential Appeals Meetings, and Special Meetings. Adjudications will occur in the 2 months following each grant application deadline (June & July, October & November, and February & March) Learning Opportunities and Benefits ● Experience in being part of a decision-making committee. ● Experience in a consensus meeting model. ● Financial literacy skills ● Gaining more knowledge of the University of Alberta, and the Students’ Union and the Student Group Granting Program ● Eligibility for an official letter of reference from UASU program staff ● Practical skills and professional experience ● An honorarium of up to $200, or $66.67 per round participated Deadline Applications close at 11:59 PM on September 20, 2026. Exigences

Applicants must be undergraduate students at the University of Alberta and current members of the Students' Union. Candidates are required to have past or current experience as an executive member of a student group.
