The new program goes beyond the traditional MEng. It offers a unique combination of comprehensive training with advanced technical knowledge, courses in change management, leadership skill development, and experiential learning in design innovation. Courses in the program are offered through the complementary engineering departments.The Department of Civil Engineering is seeking qualified candidates to teach ENGG 6712 Building Sustainable and Equitable Communities. The course instructor will be provided with a predeveloped course package including lecture materials and syllabus. It is expected that the instructor will primarily rely on the previously developed course materials in teaching this course.Explore the principles of design for equitable and sustainable communities. Strategize how to empower communities by promoting inclusive, universal, and accessible design. Use multi-disciplinary projects to develop scalable solutions for building sustainable and equitable communities. At the end of this course students will be able to:1.explain the principles of design for equitable and sustainable communities understand the major forms of inequity develop data gathering and analytic techniques to answer specific community research questions apply hands-on strategies that support the health and resilience of communities develop design strategies for building sustainable and equitable communities in a multi-disciplinary environmentQualified candidates must have a Master's or PhD in civil engineering, architecture, urban planning, or other closely related area. Relevant professional experience and licensure or certification are assets.Applicants must include cover letter, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching experience and three (3) references including email/phone contact information.
