Graduate degrees offered are MEng, MScE and PhD. The Community Transportation Research Lab (CTRL) is an informal entity within the Department of Civil Engineering and affiliated with the UNB Transportation Group. It brings together multiple funding streams and research ideas under a single brand with the goal of aligning research progress with the transportation research needs of small cities and communities, while fostering the training of highly qualified personnel. What We Offer Full-time | 2 Year Term | Fredericton | On-Campus Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week Salary Range: $52,933 - $68,818 per annum YOUR FOCUS Reporting to the Coordinator of the Community Transportation Research Lab, the Lab & Research Coordinator works closely with academic staff in transportation and is responsible for helping achieve the goals and objectives of the lab, including identifying funding and collaboration opportunities, assembling funding applications (and assisting with any reporting requirements), leading, supporting and managing project activities (including coordinating and engaging with partners and students as well as community outreach), supporting and leading report writing, and monitoring and communicating progress on lab activities. Manage projects funded through the Lab, including preparation of documentation to meet reporting requirements and coordination of human and financial resources to support project commitments. Contribute to the strategic direction and development of the Lab by identifying and scoping research projects suitable for BScE, MEng, MScE and PhD students. Support Lab administration by preparing and processing documentation for the Office of Research Services, People and Culture, Financial Services and the Department of Civil Engineering. Coordinate research funding applications by collaborating with prospective partners, defining roles, preparing letters of support and assembling proposal documentation. Plan and coordinate the development of the Lab's physical space, including student workspace, equipment and software requirements, and related submissions to Integrated Technology Services (ITS). Research and identify funding and collaboration opportunities, including Tri-Council programs, to support research, equipment and ongoing Lab operations. Prepare and review technical documentation for publication under the Lab's name, including summaries of technical reports. Coordinate data collection through research equipment and surveys and support data analysis for Lab and student research projects. Coordinate public engagement events, including a provincial transportation research symposium in collaboration with academic, industry and government partners. Support the promotion of the Lab by collaborating with UNB Communications and Marketing to develop print, web and social media content. Build and maintain effective working relationships with the Office of Research Services, municipal and regional staff, project clients, the Sustainability Office, and graduate and undergraduate students. What You Bring Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred). 1 - 5 years professional work experience in transportation engineering or related field. Additional Strengths Master's degree in Engineering, Science or Computer Science with a focus on transportation or project management is a strong asset. Ability to work in both Official Languages (English and French). Ability to travel. Registration in New Brunswick (or ability to register in New Brunswick) as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer. Experienced with MS Office suite of products. Coursework or training in Project Management.

The coordinator manages research projects and funding applications for the Community Transportation Research Lab, ensuring reporting requirements are met. They also coordinate lab operations, physical space development, and public engagement events while supporting student research.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) and 1-5 years of professional experience in transportation engineering are required. A Master's degree, bilingualism in English and French, and professional engineering registration in New Brunswick are strong assets.
