Knowledge and its Application1.1 Integrates reliable knowledge from multiple sources when providing nursing care with individuals and families experiencing complex health challenges. 2. Communication2.1 Reliably documents and reports in a concise, accurate and defendable manner, consistent with the practice setting.2.2 Demonstrates effective and developmentally appropriate communication techniques to engage in the teaching/learning process with clients.2.3 Demonstrates effective and developmentally appropriate communication and counseling techniques to build and maintain therapeutic and caring relationships.2.5 Uses appropriate information and communication technologies to support learning, professional communication and nursing practice.3. Critical Thinking/Skills of Analysis3.1 Through holistic inquiry and critical reflection, considers relevant data, information and knowledge when making decisions. 3.3 Reliably demonstrates the ability to modify care based on evidence informed guidelines in consultation with client, families, and other health care team members.3.4 Transfers theoretical and experiential knowledge to organize and prioritize appropriate decisions about nursing care of clients with complex health challenges.4. Professional Identity4.1 Consistently integrates legal, ethical, and professional standards to advocate for and provide optimal nursing care to clients and families in complex situations.4.2 Demonstrates critical reflection to self-appraise and modify practice to ensure ongoing delivery of comprehensive nursing care.4.3 Demonstrates ongoing development of professional identity within the health care team.4.6 Demonstrates professional conduct & comportment; practices with civility and addresses discrepancies between attitudes and behaviours.5. Social Justice/Effective Citizenship5.2 Collaborates with the clients, families, and health care team to plan and deliver culturally safe care that acknowledges the developmental and diverse needs of the client.5.4 Recognizes and responds appropriately in partnership with others to reduce the impact of power inequities on health outcomes.Provides students with the opportunity to care for families who have at least one member experiencing an acute or chronic illness.As a minimum, the appointee for this position will have a completed BN, hold active registration with the NANB and have recent clinical experience.

Exigences

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) degree and maintain active registration with the NANB. Recent clinical experience is also required for this position.
