Estimated course enrolment: 40Estimated TA support: N/AClass schedule: LEC0101 Monday 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM; Wednesday 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026 Salary: (including vacation pay) Sessional Lecturer I – $9,820.70 Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term – $10,510.04 Sessional Lecturer II – $10,510.04 Sessional Lecturer II, Long Term - $10,760.28 Sessional Lecturer III – $10,760.28 Sessional Lecturer III, Long Term - $11,060.36 *Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum Qualifications:• PhD in French Studies or a related field• Experience teaching language courses at the university level• Strong expertise in course design, planning, and preparation of lecture materials• Fluency in French and English Preferred Qualifications:• Extensive knowledge of Quercus, specifically its Test Manager and communication tools • Experience teaching a language course at the beginner level • Experience with course coordination Description of Duties:• Responsible for all aspects of delivering a university credit course, including:• Teaching a French language course • Preparing all course materials, including tests and assignments• Holding office hours and maintaining regular email communication with students• Grading tests and assignments • Meeting with your supervisor as required. The sessional lecturer is responsible for delivering the Elementary French II course, including preparing all materials, tests, and assignments. They must also hold office hours, maintain student communication, and grade all course assessments.

Candidates must hold a PhD in French Studies or a related field and possess experience teaching language courses at the university level. Strong expertise in course design and fluency in both French and English are required.
