Normal duties may include the preparation and delivery of course content in a design studio setting; the development and administration of assignments; providing students with regular feedback on their work in the studio setting; the marking and grading of student work and the submission of grades to appropriate University officials in accordance with policy; the maintenance of reasonable hours of student contact outside of scheduled contact hours; and the supervision of the day-to-day work of any Teaching Assistants assigned to the course. There is no expectation of or requirement for research or administrative service. Estimate of course enrollment: 27 Estimate of TA Support: None Class Schedule: TBD (WE 12:00-15:00/ WE15:00-18:00/ FR 09:00-12:00) Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2027 - April 30, 2027 Salary: $9,997.47 (Sessional Lecturer I) $10,699.21 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term) $10,699.21 (Sessional Lecturer II) $10,953.96 (Sessional Lecturer II Long Term) $10,953.96 (Sessional Lecturer III) $11,228.90 (Sessional Lecturer III Long Term) (Salary inclusive of 4% or 6% vacation pay, where applicable) Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture (or related design discipline) and relevant professional experience in design. Preferred Qualifications: We are seeking applicants with a professional degree in architecture (Master’s or Bachelor’s) and a record of teaching architectural design at the undergraduate or graduate-level. Demonstrated experience in architectural practice is an asset. Demonstrated design excellence is desired and will be evaluated through consideration of professional experience, design awards (if applicable), and a 1-2 page portfolio. Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
