POSITION TITLE: Undergraduate Education Administrator CLASSIFICATION/ Classification “IV” per Schedule A of the collective agreement RATE OF PAY: DEPARTMENT: Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Campus HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm The University of Windsor is situated on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations: the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Campus is a unique collaboration between Western University and The University of Windsor. Schulich’s Windsor Campus provides support across all areas of Undergraduate Medical Education for Schulich’s Windsor-based students towards achievement of their four-year undergraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. This position will function as a member of the Schulich Undergraduate Medical Education Office, working in close cooperation with the London Campus and operationally report to the Manager of the Windsor Campus. The position will support Course Coordinators responsible for the planning and delivery of the Undergraduate Medicine curriculum. The candidate will support the Associate Dean and work in a team environment in close communication with Schulich Windsor faculty/physicians, medical students, hospital personnel, London-based Schulich Education staff, London/Windsor course coordinators, and other Windsor-based Schulich Education staff. This position has multi-faceted responsibilities, including ensuring Schulich policies and procedures pertinent to the Schulich Windsor Campus are clearly communicated, understood, and enforced. This position will have strong ties to London-based Education staff similarly supporting the mission of the Undergraduate Medicine Program. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have: • Community College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree and three to five years related experience in an academic environment • Knowledge of Windsor Hospitals and facilities • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working with Schulich’s medical education curriculum program for Years 1, 2 & 4 • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with the Accreditation Standards for Years 1, 2 & 4 • Experience working in a distributed medical education setting • Understanding physicians’ clinical schedules as the incumbent at times needs to reschedule teaching times to be able to accommodate the Windsor physician by offering them alternate suggestions re time and locations for teaching. • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects, tasks and deadlines in a fast paced administrative environment • Initiative to continuously strive for best-in-class administrative practices • Well organized, accurate and conscientious; meet deadlines producing superior work • Trustworthy - maintain strict confidentiality regarding student, staff, and faculty personal information and academic results • Capable of handling stressful situations with a mature attitude; effectively deal with a wide variety of clients and personalities at varying levels of authority • Excellent problem-solving skills/highly organized and pro-active requiring minimal supervision • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written • Thorough knowledge of office computer programs (MS office suite), diverse database applications and electronic scheduling, e-mail, world wide web, etc. • Valid driver’s license, the ability and willingness to drive between Windsor Hospital sites and the University of Windsor • The ability and willingness to work beyond the traditional workday and infrequently on weekends *As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a job-related test.
