There is no option to work remotely. Responsibilities Tasks Performs day-to-day activities; this includes but is not limited to: Developing, managing, planning, and implementing all unit activities related to Operations Department, including seeding, transferring, distribution, packaging, packing, sanitation, logistics, shipping, site safety, and site maintenance, and providing required instructions to labourers and other department staff. Motivating and monitoring Operations Team to achieve goals and targets. Ensuring compliance with all contract obligations and required standards, test-and-holds, food safety, quality management, audits, permits, and required programs by Employer, ex. Work Safe BC, Canada GAP, GMP, Primus, etc. Supervising, training, auditing, and evaluating proper implementation of the Operations and sanitation SOPs by all department employees, contractors and visitors. Developing, managing, planning, and documenting all SOPs of Operations & sanitation programs. Providing overall support, instructions, supervision, training, and coaching to all relevant members of the company regarding Operations and sanitation. Monitoring that products are developing and harvested at intended specifications set to meet retail requirements. Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from Operations and sanitation activities using programs, and taking actions based on the conclusions. Using company ERPs and software programs for electronic records and helping improve programs. Ensuring that all machinery and equipment in facility are working optimally to perform Operations and Production activities. Notifying management and other employees on Operations and sanitation risks and deviations. Planning and coordinating daily with the Production, R&D, and support teams. Helping perform and develop Production Team SOPs as needed. Keeping a safe and tidy work environment in the facility and office. Manages and maintains up-to-date inventory of Operations Department and plans for budgets of Operations Department. Designs, plans, and implements tracking system for product life cycle for Operations Department. Plans, sets, and communicates department goals to achieve organizational objectives. Manages and trains team of machine/equipment operators, laborers, cleaners, and other operational staff. Manage and maintain all machinery/equipment used in the facility and on-site and ensure a proper schedule for maintenance and service occurs to keep the machines and equipment in proper working order. Manages, plans, evaluate, and coordinates with contractor workers (ex. labourers) to ensure adequate coverage and service throughout the week (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) Manages and maintains the work schedule and tasks for all staff and workers under supervision. Manages, plans, and coordinates with our distribution partners for pick-up, delivery, shipping, warehousing, and logistics activities/schedules. Manages, plans, and coordinates with company vendors and supplier partners for pick-up and delivery of goods, supplies, equipment, etc. Identifies, troubleshoots, and provides action plans on any issues noticed related to Operations & Sanitation. Evaluates and continuously plans to improve the Operations and sanitation processes, protocols, efficiencies and cost savings. Defines Key Performance Indicators (KPls) for the Operations Department. Plans with the HR/Admin department & managers to deploy performance management system and other tasks for the Operations Department. Implements, updates, and maintains Operations Department's SOPs and related procedures/documentation via company ERPs. Manages projects and assignments as assigned by top management including development and deploying the needed items for the facility and site. Maintains a safe workplace by adhering to WorkSafe BC regulations and ensures all workers are working safely with the necessary PPE. Maintains an active Occupational First Aid Level I certificate. Ensures documentations, permits/certifications of the facility & Operations are maintained and up to date. Keeps Management and other teams updated daily on activities as well as upcoming items to be completed. Where applicable, promotes and maintains GMP requirements. Frequent use of forklift and operational vehicles. Help communicate plans, actions, safety risks, and issues including WorkSafe BC regulations, within the Operations Department and interdepartmentally. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments. Responsible and accountable for overall duties and Operations Department performance. Plans, commits, and purchases various office, operations, and sanitation supplies. Communicates internally and externally through email, phone, software programs, and in-person. Provides general administrative support to the office, including filing, general communications, answering incoming phone calls, and other basic duties as needed. Carries out miscellaneous administrative tasks as requested by top management including purchasing miscellaneous supplies may involve use of personal vehicle. The work schedule includes on-call support and needs to be flexible to include evening and weekend shifts to accommodate Operations and Production schedule. Implementing all unit activities related to Food Safety and Quality Management programs, including quality assurance (QA) of product and processes, quality control (QC) of products, and sanitation, and providing required tasks and duties to laborers and other department staff. Ensuring compliance with all contract obligations and required standards, test and holds, audits, permits, and required programs by Employer, ex. Work Safe BC, Canada GAP, GMP, Primus, etc. Carrying out daily checks and ensuring harvested products meet intended specifications set to meet retail requirements. Using company ERPs and software programs (Icicle) for electronic records and helping improve programs. Notifying Production Manager and other employees on Food safety and Quality Management risks and deviations. Planning and coordinating daily with the Production Team, Operations Team and support teams. Keeping a safe and tidy work environment in the facility and office. Manages and maintains an up-to-date inventory of the Food Safety and Quality Management department. Plans, sets, and communicates department goals to achieve organizational objectives. Implements, updates, and maintains Food Safety & Quality Management Department's checklist on Icicle. Help with special occasional projects and assignments assigned by top management. Carries out miscellaneous administrative tasks as requested by top management, including purchasing miscellaneous supplies, may involve use of personal vehicles. Communicates internally and externally through email, phone, software programs, and in-person. Maintains a flexible work schedule which includes weekend shifts to accommodate Production schedule. Provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, and switches. Conduct regular system and software maintenance, including updates and patches. Implement and oversee data backup and recovery processes. Ensure cybersecurity by implementing protocols, monitoring threats, and responding to security incidents.
