Our esteemed client is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its in-house legal department in Edmonton. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented professional to support a busy legal team while working with residential real estate transactions, conveyancing matters and related financing documentation. Key Responsibilities Manage residential lot and home conveyancing requirements, including tracking lot sales and holdbacks. Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and other documentation relating to lot and home sales. Prepare mortgage registrations, discharges and conveyancing documents. Assist with land acquisitions and the registration of lots in builders’ names. Prepare financing and security documents. Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy. Create and maintain an organized database of legal files. Track closing dates, anniversary dates, expiration dates and other important deadlines. Maintain the legal department’s filing system and coordinate the off-site storage of closed files. Prepare reports and provide general administrative support to the legal department. Qualifications and Experience A diploma or degree in Legal Administrative Studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years of experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally involving real estate conveyancing and related legal documentation. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and a high volume of work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. A collaborative, professional and respectful approach to working with colleagues. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint. Ability to successfully complete a criminal record check. You will be comfortable managing competing deadlines, maintaining accurate records and supporting the legal team in a professional and service-oriented manner. Work Environment This is an in-house, office-based position in Edmonton, with regular business hours. Occasional overtime may be required.
