Urban Legal Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with our valued client, a well-established and highly respected Calgary law firm, in the recruitment of a Litigation Legal Assistant to join its collaborative and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Litigation Legal Assistant with three plus years, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to lawyers throughout all stages of the litigation process while managing complex files, maintaining critical deadlines, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day support to lawyers on a variety of litigation matters. Provide administrative and client support, including responding to inquiries, maintaining files, tracking deadlines, and assisting with billing processes in a professional and timely manner. Prepare, draft, and file litigation documents, including pleadings, affidavits, motions, and builders' liens at all levels of court. Coordinate all stages of litigation, including discoveries, motions, trial preparation, and enforcement proceedings. Manage critical deadlines, court dates, and limitation periods through an effective bring-forward system. Liaise with courts, registries, clients, witnesses, and other external stakeholders. Coordinate scheduling, document execution, and file management activities. Ensure accurate and timely organization, filing, and reporting of all litigation matters. Maintain and organize physical and electronic files, including document management systems such as NetDocuments. Support billing processes, including monthly invoicing and follow-up on outstanding accounts. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in a legal assistant, law clerk, or paralegal capacity. Completion of a recognized Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or Paralegal program would be considered an asset. Experience using Unity Accounting for file management and billing activities. Experience with Land Titles processes and systems. Strong proficiency with NetDocuments or similar document management systems. Advanced skills in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
