Job Description Client is seeking an Application Developer - Sr Python Engineer to support a project-based vendor integration initiative. The engineer will design and maintain secure, scalable Python microservices and APIs, connect platforms and data through REST/gRPC and event-driven patterns, and modernize data solutions across Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Azure SQL, Unity Catalog, and SQL. This role offers a long-term one-year contract, meaningful exposure to cloud-native engineering and data-platform modernization, and collaboration with experienced technology, platform, security, and business partners. Experience: 10+ years of software engineering, including enterprise Python. Responsibilities: Application and platform engineering Design, develop, test, document, and maintain secure Python microservices using Fast API. Build RESTful, gRPC, internal platform, data-ingestion, event-driven, batch-processing, and authentication/authorization APIs. Deploy and operate services using Docker and Kubernetes, with Redis and Kafka where appropriate. Create reusable frameworks, automation, and orchestration patterns that improve delivery quality and reliability. Translate complex requirements into practical, production-ready solutions with technology and business partners. Data engineering and operational excellence Build and optimize data solutions using Python, PySpark, Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS, Clienture Data Factory, Airflow, Clienture SQL, Unity Catalog, and SQL. Troubleshoot production issues, tune performance, and support releases and readiness activities. Implement testing, monitoring, authentication, authorization, compliance, and reliability practices. Partner with security, platform, engineering, and business teams to deliver governed capabilities. Contribute to knowledge transfer and technical documentation. Required Skillsets Python: Senior hands-on enterprise development. Fast API: Production microservice development. API design: REST/gRPC and multiple API patterns. Docker/Kubernetes: Containerized deployment and orchestration. Redis/Kafka: Caching, messaging, and event-driven architecture. PySpark: Distributed data processing. Azure data platform: Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS, Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Unity Catalog. Airflow/SQL: Workflow orchestration and relational querying. Security and quality: Authentication, authorization, testing, monitoring, compliance, and reliability. Enterprise delivery: Troubleshooting, release support, documentation, and cross-team execution. Preferred Skillsets High-volume enterprise services or pipelines. Reusable internal frameworks and shared services. Internal developer-platform capabilities. AI-assisted development, testing, or documentation. Strong written and verbal communication. Experience partnering with security and governance teams. Performance tuning and production-readiness ownership. Vendor-integration or complex platform-integration experience. Education: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
