Veterinary Technician or Technologist, RVT Department: Emergency/ICU Location: Victoria, BC Compensation: $27.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills. Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital is looking for full-time RVTs to join our Emergency & ICU teams! This role works closely with our ER DVMs and board-certified specialists, including two boarded criticalists, in a fast-paced, stimulating, world-class medical environment. If you already have your VTS in Emergency and Critical Care, or if you dream of one day achieving your VTS, this is where you want to be: among specialists who literally wrote the books on Veterinary Medicine and the RECOVER initiative, as well as our anesthesia-focused RVT and board-certified anesthesiologist. What You Bring Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program, with eligibility for registration in the applicable province. Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting is an asset. Strong knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology, and clinical procedures. Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient assessment. Ability to safely handle and restrain animals using appropriate techniques. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient-focused approach to animal care. Commitment to continuing education and ongoing professional development. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
