Job Title: Senior Java Developer Location: Mississauga, Canada (Onsite) Department: Engineering / Software Development Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an elite, high-performing Senior Java Developer to architect, design, and deliver mission-critical, highly scalable enterprise applications. You will play a pivotal role in modernizing our core backend architecture, optimizing high-throughput distributed systems, and mentoring engineering talent. The ideal candidate possesses an uncompromising commitment to clean code, test-driven development, and deep architectural fundamentals in modern Java ecosystems. Key Responsibilities Architectural Design & Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Java codebases for complex distributed systems. System Scalability & Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, scale microservices architectures, and optimize database queries to handle millions of transactions with minimal latency. API Design & Integration: Build secure, scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs and integrate third-party enterprise services. Cloud & DevOps Infrastructure: Deploy, monitor, and scale applications within cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) utilizing containerization and orchestration tools. Quality Assurance & Testing: Drive rigorous automated testing practices, including Unit, Integration, and Performance testing (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers), ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines. Technical Leadership: Conduct code reviews, enforce strict engineering best practices, and mentor mid-level and junior developers to elevate team output. Required Technical Stack & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8+ years of professional software development experience specializing in enterprise Java applications. Core Java Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Java 17/21, concurrency, multithreading, memory management, and JVM performance tuning. Frameworks: Deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA. Architecture & Patterns: Proven track record designing and building Microservices Architecture, event-driven systems, and domain-driven design (DDD). Databases & Caching: Strong relational database expertise (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Cassandra) and caching layers (Redis, Hazelcast). Message Brokers: Experience with high-throughput event streaming and messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ. DevOps & Tooling: Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), Git, Maven/Gradle, and Linux/Unix environments.

Architect and deliver scalable enterprise applications while modernizing backend architecture and optimizing distributed systems. Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring of junior and mid-level developers.

Requires 5 to 8+ years of professional experience in enterprise Java development with deep expertise in Spring frameworks and microservices. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
