Vehicle Accountant

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE Required Qualifications HS Diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience working for a dealership accounting or admin department Understand the process and flow of a deal Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) Understanding of balance forward and aging schedules Experience with Dealer Management Systems; Proficient in all Microsoft suite- must know how to leverage Excel for accounting Able to work independently while also being a collaborative, team player with a result driven approach in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, programs and methodologies, and Dealer licenses Curiosity, creativity and effective research skills Self-driven, analytical thinker with effective organizational and planning skills Must maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Principal Responsibilities Process and post New and Used vehicle sales (Average of 250 deals per month). Record and monitor revenue and cost of sales as related to vehicle sales Calculate commissions owed and submits to payroll Maintain and reconcile accounting schedules relating to vehicle sales including but not limited to receivables, payable and inventory schedules Works with Sales Department to obtain required documents Communicate with upper management, various sales team members, and department managers Functional Competencies Candidates must perform at the appropriate level for the organization’s core competencies and leadership competencies (if applicable). Process and post new and used vehicle sales while monitoring revenue and cost of sales. Maintain accounting schedules for receivables, payables, and inventory, and calculate commissions for payroll.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience in dealership accounting or administration. Candidates must be proficient in GAAP, Dealer Management Systems, and Microsoft Excel.
