Role Description The Fire Alarm Apprentice is a full-time, on-site role based in Regina, SK, supporting the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting senior technicians with system wiring, device installation, troubleshooting, and repairs, as well as helping perform functional tests to verify system performance and compliance with codes and standards. The apprentice will help document work performed, maintain tools and equipment, and follow all company and regulatory safety procedures. This role involves learning to interpret drawings and specifications, supporting project schedules, and communicating clearly with team members, customers, and site personnel. The position offers hands-on technical training and progression opportunities within fire protection, life safety, and security services. Qualifications Foundational knowledge and interest in Fire Prevention and Fire Safety, with a commitment to learning applicable codes and standards. Developing skills or training in Fire Protection and Life Safety systems, including understanding of risk mitigation in various building types. Ability to learn and support work on Fire Suppression Systems and related life safety technologies under the guidance of experienced technicians. Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to use hand tools, follow technical instructions, and read basic drawings or schematics. Strong attention to detail, safety-focused work habits, and reliability in on-site construction or service environments. Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in diverse teams and customer-facing situations. High school diploma or equivalent; enrollment in or eligibility for a fire alarm or electrical apprenticeship program is an asset. Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to local job sites as required. Previous experience in construction, electrical, or building services is considered an advantage but not required.
