Role Description The Broadcast Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Bracebridge, ON. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining broadcast equipment for radio transmissions, live shows, and recorded segments. Daily activities include monitoring signal quality, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and coordinating with on-air and production staff to ensure smooth, reliable broadcasts. The Broadcast Technician will assist with studio and remote setups, manage audio routing, and support lighting and camera needs when required. The role also involves performing routine equipment inspections, documenting maintenance, and adhering to safety and industry standards. Qualifications Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving technical and equipment issues. Knowledge of broadcasting systems and workflows, including radio transmission and studio operations. Experience with lighting setups for studios or remote events. Familiarity with camera operations for basic video recording or live streaming. Understanding of radio equipment, audio consoles, and related hardware. Diploma or certification in broadcast technology, electronics, audio engineering, or a related field is an asset. Ability to work on-site, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed for live events or maintenance. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with programming, production, and technical teams. Attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining high technical standards.
