Job Summary We are seeking a full-time responsible and vigilant Temporary Workplace Signer (TWS)/Traffic Signer to ensure traffic control safety for our line /splicing crews and the public for our telecom network construction projects in Halifax, NS. This position plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining safe work zones by implementing temporary traffic control plans and ensuring work sites comply with provincial standards and regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, modification, and removal of traffic control signage and devices while supporting safe traffic movement through temporary work zones. Duties & Responsibilities Set up, maintain, and remove temporary workplace traffic control signs and devices. Implement traffic control plans in accordance with project requirements. Place and maintain cones, delineators, barrels, barricades, and other traffic control equipment. Conduct site assessments to ensure safe and compliant work zone setups. Inspect work zones regularly and make adjustments as required. Load, unload, transport, and maintain signage and traffic control equipment. Communicate effectively with supervisors, Traffic Control Persons (TCPs), project crews, and clients. Complete required documentation and safety reports. Follow all provincial regulations, company policies, and safety procedures. Knowledge and Skills Valid Certification as Temporary Workplace Signer (TWS) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and situational awareness Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions/ standing for extended periods Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces Ability to work construction in a physically demanding atmosphere including, but is not limited to: carry, raise and climb a ladder, carry, lift and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels) Strong commitment to health and safety Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks Additional Requirements Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean driving record Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required Ability to travel (Company provides paid travel, accommodations and a daily per-diem) The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check Experience Required Experience in traffic control, road construction, utilities, or civil infrastructure projects. Experience driving a company vehicle is considered an asset Related experience in a telecommunications environment is considered a definite asset Compensation And Benefits Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level (Ranging from $22.00/hr to $24.00 Hour (CDN)) Weekly Pay Cycle Group Insurance Benefits Package (Health/Dental, Life, AD&D, Vision/ LTD) – Company pays 50% of premiums Company Matched RRSP Contributions Employee Referral Bonus Employee Discounts
