Loader, Dozer and Hoe Operator

Reporting to the Foreman, the Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a wheeled loader, Dozer and Excavator. How You’ll Add Value * Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment * Operate the wheeled loader efficiently and effectively on public and private roadways * Use the dozer to level soil and move rock or debris * Operate dozer controls to regulate height and angle of a dozer blade and lower ripper to loosen packed soil to permit grading * Operate the dozer in successive passes to raise or lower terrain to the specified grade, using grade stakes, hand signals and GPS. * Collaborate with ground personnel in the excavation and installation of pipes, ensuring proper line and grade * Minimize excavation time to maintain production schedule while cutting grade * Perform trench work in compliance with OH&S regulations * Understand and manage ground disturbance issues effectively * Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment, including routine cleaning and upkeep to ensure smooth loader operation * Perform in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity * Operate additional heavy equipment as required to support project needs What You Bring * 3+ years of experience operating the Loader, Excavator and Dozer in heavy civil construction * An understanding of computerized controls and electronics (GPS) is an asset * Physically able to safely lift and carry 40 lbs regularly * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions * Willing to travel and work out of town for short, fixed-term periods, as needed Note: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing and Fit for Work Testing will be required. The operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of wheeled loaders, dozers, and excavators to support civil construction projects. They must collaborate with ground personnel, perform daily equipment maintenance, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction and possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License. The role requires physical stamina to lift 40 lbs and the willingness to travel for out-of-town work.
