Rust Engineer

Webisoft is a premier development lab and venture studio specializing in cutting-edge technologies. We are seeking a senior Rust engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a strong systems-level developer who cares about performance, correctness, and clean architecture and lives in or around Montreal Must-haves Strong experience in Rust programming, with a deep understanding of systems-level programming Solid software engineering fundamentals: API design, testing strategy, code review, and technical documentation Experience with distributed systems, network protocols, and secure computing principles Ability to write clean, maintainable, and performance-oriented code Knowledge of key-value stores, databases, and low-level system optimizations Comfort working across the stack when needed — services, tooling, and integrations Understanding of software development best practices such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, and code documentation Nice-to-haves Experience with cryptography or zero-knowledge proof systems (a very strong plus) Background in blockchain or decentralized protocols — consensus mechanisms, smart contracts, or ecosystems like Solana and Cosmos Experience with async Rust (Tokio), WASM, or FFI boundaries JavaScript/TypeScript experience Bilingual English + French Perks Remote-first position with offices in Montreal if you're around Great benefits package including dental and vision Flex work hours Relaxed and fun atmosphere

The engineer will develop high-performance, secure systems and distributed architectures using Rust. Responsibilities include designing APIs, implementing network protocols, and optimizing low-level system performance.

Candidates must have strong Rust expertise, deep systems-level programming knowledge, and experience with distributed systems. Proficiency in software engineering fundamentals and CI/CD pipelines is required.
